Slide 1: A/V Project
-Project title and a picture of me in the long drive contest at the International Jr Masters
Slide 2: The Process
-The first picture is explained as me winning the ECIC title in 2017.
-The second picture is explained as me winning the East Aurora Club Championship for three years straight.
-The third picture is explained as me finishing 17th out of 82 at NYSPHAA States in 2016, my freshman year of high school.
-The fourth picture is explained as my team, EA/Holland winning the 2019 Section VI Team Championship at River Oaks Country Club.
-Overall, this slide showed multiple different steps and achievements I had on my path to coming to St Bonaventure University.
Slide 3: The Hard Days
-The top left image is explained in the audio as me losing in a playoff to my friend, Kevin, for the Section VI title in 2017.
-The video on the right is explained as the challenges I had to overcome being a golfer in Buffalo NY and only having half the year to play outside, while my Southern competitors had all year to practice and play outside. In the video I am hitting golf balls into my net in my barn with very little heat on a cold winter day.
-The video on the bottom left is me going through a swing change at our SBU indoor hitting area. I explain in the audio how difficult it is to work through a swing change and that it takes a lot of time and hard work.
-Overall, this slide is meant to portray the message that there will always be hardships and failures that you encounter on your path to success.
Slide 4: The Big Show
-The top left image is described as my interview on live TV with Channel 7 News before I left for my trip to Augusta National to compete at the Drive, Chip, and Putt Championship in 2016.
-The image on the right is me at the regional qualifier at Oakmont CC where I came in first place and punched my ticket to go to Augusta. On this day, it was rainy, cold, windy, and overall miserable weather conditions.
-The last image is the logo for the tournament in which I qualified for. Basically, the competitor gets 3 driver, 3 chips, and three putts. You get points for hitting the furthest, straightest drive and points for getting the ball as close to or in the whole on the chips and putts. In the end, the competitor with the most points is the winner.
Slide 5: Awards
-The top left image, as I stated above, was when I finished 17th out of 82 at the NYSPHAA States in 2016 and won the All-State All-Star award.
-The bottom left image shows me along with my friend Kai, who is from Australia, in an interview with “Tee 2 Green” before we set out to compete in the 2019 International Junior Masters at East Aurora CC.
-The top and bottom right images both show me winning Sportsmanship awards at two of the biggest tournaments I have ever competed in. both awards were extremely humbling as I was recognized as an outstanding teammate and competitor amongst over 80 competitors.
Slide 6: The Recruitment
-The top left image is described as me signing my National Letter of Intent to St Bonaventure, alongside (from left to right: my golf coach, my mother, myself, my father, and my high school athletic director) at Holland High School.
-The bottom left image shows my first team win at SBU, The Little Three Championship, which is played head-to-head against Niagara and Canisius. We have won this tournament for the past seven years straight.
-The top right image shows our latest team victory, a heat-to-head match against Army at Schulyer Meadows Golf Club in Albany NY and is named after SBU Men’s Golf alum Ed Murray.
Slide 7: Current Process
-This slide is meant to explain what I am currently working through which is a swing change along with strength and conditioning. The left video shows my swing from 2020, the middle video is the swing change I am currently working on, and the right video is my current swing at almost 100% power. I have gained over 10 yards on each of my clubs within these past 8 months, and added nearly 5mph to my average swing speed.

A/V Project Reflection
The main purpose of creating this PowerPoint with multiple images and audio files was to reflect on my path to becoming a Division 1 golfer at St. Bonaventure. Within this project, I was hoping to portray a message to my viewers that shows how hard work and dedication can lead to success no matter where you start. Also, I would like my viewers to know that failure only leads to success when keep working and stay persistent. Throughout my path I had many hurdles stand in my way such as injury, swing changes, and tough losses; it’s all about how you get back on your feet and keep moving forward. I was most successful at portraying this message by creating images that show my path to success along with images and videos of things that held me back along the way. Also, the slide with swing videos shows my progress in swing speed and balance after I started working out more and fixing some mechanics within my swing. I think the least successful aspect of this project was trying to incorporate audio that was entertaining for the audience. I feel that I may have been a little monotone and would have liked to incorporate some music with the audio. I spent a lot of time digging back in my files to find pictures of my successes and failures from the last six years or so. I also spent a lot of time on the audio aspect trying to relay the message of each picture to my audience. The main challenge I found with writing with audio and images is trying not to incorporate too many words within the project. For this reason, I used very small descriptions and then explained each image through audio. Using audio and images I feel that I can explain things much easier and give the audience an image they can see that lets them be more visually aware of what was going on. With a long text trying to explain things the audience may get lost or not be able to picture exactly what was happening. In relation to fair use, I only used images, text, and audio that came from me firsthand. This could be views as more of a documentary of my golf career and I was the direct source. Therefore, I did not necessarily incorporate the work of others or other materials into this project.
